The Breaking Wind

Terrific 2009! Close-Out Gig at Aldershot!

The Breaking Wind thanks Aldershot School, Vanessa Ray-Zarate, and all the students who attended Monday's performance for their enthusiastic reception and the opportunity for us to share the band's story and music. We had a great time! Thanks for the cheers. Thanks for the encore. It was a terrific way for TBW to top off what has been a sensational year, 2009!

TBW on ESPN | ABC

ESPN and ABC Sports agreed to terms this week with The Breaking Wind for the rights to use one of the band's original songs. From the band's self-titled debut album the track "Dear Mr. Murphy," composed and arranged by Marty Isaacs, is intended for use as a music bed or background for an on-air teaser for ABC Sports' Saturday Night Football. This week's game is Michigan vs. Iowa. Legendary sportscaster Brent Musburger will be the voice talent.
The Breaking Wind's three band members, Marty Isaacs, Ryan Johnson, and Ryan Mickeloff, all attend McKinnon Park Secondary School in Caledonia, Ontario. The teaser will air this Saturday at 8:00 p.m. EST, on Free TV on ABC networks and its affiliates, including HDTV, worldwide.

The Breaking Wind Rock Caledonia

To help Caledonia, Ontario celebrate Canada Day and ignite its 2009 fireworks display, The Breaking Wind rocked the audience with an inspired and professionally-delivered performance. The band put together a great playlist that featured original tracks from their self-titled debut album along with some popular cover tunes. As the crowd shouted for an encore, Master of Ceremonies Brad Bell praised the band, which he said was back in Caledonia this year by popular demand. If you haven't had a chance to see the band play live you purchase their album direct through this website or digitally on iTunes or CDBaby.com.

Debut Album Released!

The Breaking Wind is pleased to announce that our debut CD has been released!  The album is the result of two years of work and reflects our musical interests and sensibilities, as well as insensibilities (whatever that means).  Anyways, check it out.  You can order physical CDs from our "merch" page on this website.  If you're in a hurry, and why not, you can get a digital download from CDBABY or iTunes.  Pretty cool!  We hope you like it.

What We've Been Up To

The band continues to work on our first full album, which we plan to professionally record and release before the end of 2008.  TBW currently has eight groovy original songs written or in development as well as one rockin' cover arrangement of a classic jazz tune.  Throughout the rest of 2008 we'll be concentrating on finishing writing and perfecting our original songs and practicing as often as we can.  We're just trying to get things in order and to refresh our set list.  But we love doing gigs.  It's our favorite thing and a great way for us to tryout new material.  We should be getting out more soon and hope to see you.  Keep track of past and upcoming performances by going to our "shows" page.

If anyone would like to hire The Breaking Wind for a venue or just for entertainment please to go our "booking info" page and contact us.  Thanks.
